PDR & Hail Repair in Katy, TX

Pro PDR is based at 6113 Milwee St Ste E in northwest Houston, a straight shot to Katy via I-610 West to I-10 West. Depending on traffic and which subdivision we are heading to, our technicians reach Cinco Ranch, Firethorne, or Cross Creek Ranch in roughly 30 to 40 minutes. Most Katy customers exit at Grand Parkway (99), Mason Road, or Pin Oak Road. The shop is the only location that performs the actual repair work, but we estimate, coordinate rentals, and deliver finished vehicles across the entire 77449, 77450, 77493, 77494 footprint.

Katy Neighborhoods We Serve

Katy has grown from a rice-farming town on the old Santa Fe line into one of the largest master-planned communities in the country. Each subdivision has its own quirks when a storm rolls through, and we see vehicles from all of them.

  • Cinco Ranch — the flagship community straddling Fort Bend and Harris counties. Open fairway lots and long driveways mean cars take direct hits when the wind tilts a storm sideways.
  • Cross Creek Ranch — a Fulshear-adjacent Katy ISD community west of FM 1463. Newer builds, fewer mature trees, lots of F-150s and Teslas parked out front.
  • Firethorne — just north of I-10 near the Waller County line. Sits on flat prairie that funnels storms directly out of the southwest.
  • Seven Meadows — a mid-2000s community off Fry Road with a mix of garage-kept and driveway-parked vehicles. We see a lot of Lexus and Acura hail work here.
  • Cane Island — north of I-10 off Pin Oak. Newer 2018+ builds, very exposed, heavy truck population.
  • Grand Lakes — established community off Fry and Highland Knolls. Mature tree canopy offers some shelter, but driveway vehicles still get peppered.
  • Old Katy — the original town grid around Pin Oak and Avenue D. Smaller lots, older homes, often detached single-car garages.
  • Woodcreek Reserve and Tamarron — on the western edge near Fulshear. These were some of the hardest-hit zips in the May 2024 derecho.

Recent Katy Hail History

Katy sits inside the Houston hail corridor, but it also catches storms that Houston proper misses. The March 2023 supercell that tracked along I-10 dropped golf-ball hail from Brookshire through Cinco Ranch before weakening near the Beltway. The May 16, 2024 derecho pounded Fort Bend County, with Cinco Ranch, Seven Meadows, and Cross Creek Ranch filing thousands of auto claims in the days that followed — that event alone kept our schedule full through late summer. Most recently, the April 2026 line that lit up radar along the Grand Parkway dropped quarter to half-dollar hail on Firethorne and Cane Island. If your vehicle was outside during any of these events, the damage is almost certainly covered under your comprehensive policy.

Why Katy Gets Hit Harder Than You Expect

Geography does most of the work. Katy sits on the Harris/Fort Bend border on open coastal prairie, roughly 80 to 120 feet above sea level with very little topography to disrupt an incoming storm. Gulf moisture rides northwest and collides with dry-line boundaries pushing in from the Hill Country, and the resulting supercells frequently reach maturity right as they cross Highway 99. Rapid suburbanization over the last 15 years has added tens of thousands of driveways without adding much mature tree cover — meaning more exposed metal and glass than almost any other part of greater Houston.

Katy Case File: 2022 F-150 in Cinco Ranch

After the May 2024 derecho, a Cinco Ranch customer brought in a 2022 Ford F-150 Lariat with roof, hood, and bedside pitting — somewhere north of 180 dents total. The truck was insured through USAA. We wrote the supplement, handled the adjuster re-inspection, and got the customer into a rental the same week. The repair took nine business days using paintless dent repair on the factory paint, with no fillers and no repaint. Out of pocket: $0 beyond the comprehensive deductible, which USAA waived under the policy's hail provision. The lifetime PDR warranty travels with the truck.

Katy FAQ

KATY HAIL & PDR QUESTIONS

Straight answers to the questions we get from Cinco Ranch, Firethorne, and Cross Creek Ranch customers every week.

How long does it take to get from your shop to Katy?
Our shop at 6113 Milwee Street is a single interstate hop to Katy — I-610 West to I-10 West. Midday runs to Cinco Ranch or Mason Road take about 30 minutes; Cross Creek Ranch and Firethorne are closer to 35 to 40. We schedule drop-offs and pickups around I-10 rush hours so you are not sitting in Energy Corridor traffic.
Does Pro PDR actually file the hail claim for me?
Yes. We open the claim with your carrier, document the damage with our own hail matrix, meet the adjuster on-site or at the shop, and write any supplement needed to get every panel covered. Katy customers usually never talk to the insurance company beyond the first phone call.
My car was damaged in Fort Bend County but I live in Harris. Does that matter?
Not for the repair itself, but adjusters assigned to Fort Bend claims sometimes use different catastrophe teams than Harris County, and their initial estimates can run light. We are used to both. If your vehicle was in Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch, or Firethorne during the storm, note that location on the claim — it helps justify the supplement we write on your behalf.
Which insurance carriers do you work with for Katy customers?
All of them. State Farm, USAA, Allstate, Progressive, Geico, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, Texas Farm Bureau, Travelers, and the smaller Texas-only carriers you see a lot of in Katy ISD zips. We are a direct-pay shop with most of them, which means no paperwork for you.
Can someone look at my car in Katy before I drive to the shop?
Yes. Text a few photos in daylight to (281) 906-7696 and we will give you a ballpark within the hour. For large fleets or multiple household vehicles in Cinco Ranch or Cross Creek Ranch, we can send a technician out to walk the cars before you commit to dropping anything off.
